Captioning and Metadata in Photoshop

Select File–> File Info

First tab, Description. Fill in the appropriate fields.

Your document title is typically the assignment (photo essay, assignment 1, etc).
Author is your name.
Description is your caption.
Description writer is also your name.

Make sure the Copyright Status is Copyrighted. Copyright Notice is your name.

Second tab, IPTC, Contact, Content and Status.

Fill in some contact info. You don’t need your full address if you don’t want it, but you should at least have a phone number or email.

Put your caption in IPTC–> IPTC Content –> Description. This is the same info from above.

Make sure under IPTC Status, you’re name is in the Copyright Notice field.
