Assignment 1: What the Still Photo Still Does Best
For next week your assignments are as follows:
1. Read this New York Times article on still photography.
- Post thoughts to comments.
2. Environmental portrait assignment:
- Choose 3 different people to shoot
- They cannot be other CUNY Students
- At least 1 person must be a stranger
- The remaining 2 people can be people you know (roommate, significant other, neighbor, etc).
- For each person, choose your top 2 photos for submission.
Remember: Take lots of photos — at least 20 or 30 frames for every select.
